Sex is God’s wedding gift to the bride & groom.

Sunday 5th September 2010.

I love weddings! Throughout my life, I have been involved in many weddings- as a guest, as a flower girl, as a bridesmaid, as a matron of honour and last year… I got to be the bride and married the man of my dreams- God’s best for me!

Indeed, weddings are a wonderful occassion where two people commit to spending the rest of their lives together. It’s a day filled with sacred vows, celebration, music, food, dancing, laughter, flowers and gifts!

Did you know that sex is God’s wedding gift to the bride and groom? This may be a strange concept to many girls and women- especially in our society where it’s accepted to have sex with many people.

Sex has lost it’s sacredness. I think it breaks God’s heart when He sees what He created as something good turned into something that causes so many girls and women heartache… because they didn’t wait for marriage.

Proverbs 5:15&16 say Drink water from your own well… why spill the water of your springs in public, having sex with just anyone? In desert lands, water is precious. In biblical times, a family’s well was their most important possession. It was considered a crime to steal water from another family’s well.

When you choose to have sex when you are not married, you are actually stealing someone else’s future husband. Sex is a special gift from God that He has reserved for husbands and wives- it’s something to share with that one life partner that you do not share with anyone else.

A Girl of Wisdom chooses to wait… she chooses to wait for God to introduce her to His best for her…. she chooses to wait for marriage. She doesn’t throw away the gift… or steal someone else’s gift.

And even if you feel it’s too late, God also offers the gifts of unconditional love and forgiveness. From this day on, you can still be a Girl of Wisdom who has a revelation that sex is God’s wedding gift to the bride and groom.
