Be Kind to Your Soul…

Saturday 11th September 2010

I am a firm believer that “what you sow is what you reap.” I’m not much of a gardener, but I do know that if I plant flower seeds, flowers will eventually grow- not carrots!!

In the same way, your words and actions are seeds that grow into things in your own life. If your words and actions are selfish, unkind and cruel, eventually, you’ll reap loneliness, misery and bitterness in your own life. However, if your words and actions are thoughtful towards others, kind and encouraging, eventually, you’ll reap beautiful friendships, happiness and peace in your own life.

Proverbs 11:17 says– Your own soul is nourished when you are kind, but you destroy yourself when you are cruel. Interesting, isn’t it? When we’re feeling down and upset, the last thing we often feel like doing is being kind- we often lash out and take out our bad mood on someone else. And that does not make us feel any better- it makes things worse.

A Girl of Widom takes her eyes off of herself and focuses her energy on being kind to someone else instead of wallowing in self-pity. This decision is a powerful, supernatural “seed” that very quickly grows joy and strength in your own life, causing your bad mood to fade away.

The kindest thing you can do for yourself is to actually be kind to others… your inner self will thank you!
