Have you ever felt like giving up?

Sunday 25 September 2011

Have you ever said to yourself “I just don’t think I can keep going?!” Or  asked yourself “How much longer is this going to last because I don’t think
I have the strength to keep going?”

Proverbs 24:16 (NLT) says, “The godly may trip up seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.”

We all have times in our lives where the  distance between our reality and the hope in our heart of a dream or  situation earthing itself in our life, feels like a road too long to travel  (surrounded only by desert and cactuses ha! 🙂 ). The journey to that dream just seems too long, you already feel like you have travelled far enough,  your strength is sapped and you want to stop by the side of the road pull up  a good deck chair, drink Pina Colada’s, get a good sun tan and watch the world go by!

You know what that’s ok… pull up the deck chair, have the Pina Colada but
just don’t camp there… get back up again… there are dangers to living in a
desert… health decreases, life moves on and dreams die. The best thing you
can do is get a little hydration, some needed rest and relaxation and then
with renewed energy get back up again and put one foot in front of the
other.

A Girl of Wisdom knows that every dream in her heart is worth fighting for
and it takes hard work… sometimes we are power walking, sometimes we are
running, sometimes we need a good Pina Colada… but a Girl of Wisdom knows
she cannot afford to camp in one place along the journey, she knows that
above all else until the finish line is crossed for that dream in her heart…. she must keep going… even if it means for the time being just putting one foot in front of the other.
